This product is a selective systemic herbicide that is absorbed
principally through a plant's roots, though also through its
foliage, with translocation acropetally in the xylem and accumulation
in the apical meristems and leaves.

Alachlor has the following uses:
1) For pre- and post-emergence control of annual broad-leaved weeds
and annual grasses found among plantations of maize, sorghum,
sugar cane, pineapples, chemical fallow, grass, macadamia nuts,
and conifers, in addition to industrial weed control.
2) Phytotoxicity: Phytotoxic to many crops, including most
vegetables, potatoes, soya beans, and peanuts.
